Nissan’s powertrain factory is just one hour south of Smyrna, which is located in Decherd, TN. The Powertrain Assembly Plant started in 1997 and has the capacity to build 1.4 million engines each year. And thanks to the demand for innovative technology, the facility plans on producing more all-electric engines. Finally, there’s a third facility in Canton, MS. This plant has created over 25,000 jobs at its 4.7-million-square-foot factory and has won awards for its diversity and overall versatility.
